Phoenix worms® are extremely high in calcium; 20 to 60 times more than other feeders. The phoenix worm is the larvae of the soldier fly and is scientifically named 'hermetia illucens linnaeus'. It is the only feeder with a perfect balance of calcium and phosphorus; 1.5:1. They do not require and should not be dusted with calcium because it will cause an imbalance of the minerals. These are one of the healthiest feeders you can buy on the marketplace...and your pet will love them! They are an exceptional staple food. Reports have shown that hatchlings fed with Phoenix worms® are 30% larger than those that do not! The following charts shows just how healthy they are:

Care
Refrigeration: No; they should be kept at room temperature.
Life span: They live for about 1 month.
Appearance and texture:  Light brown with a soft exoskeleton. They are very energetic and your pet will love their taste.
Size: 3/4".
Bedding and food: They will arrive in cups of 100. You should keep them in the cup, with the lid on, at room temperature. They will not eat, make noise, or have an odor (the perfect, easiest feeder!)
Nutrition: Calcium rich and perfectly balanced. One of the BEST feeders on the market. See above chart for more information.

As with most worm suppliers, worm are sold in a measured volume, not individually counted. You may get slightly more or sometimes less depending on the worm size of the batch.
